The Okemos Public Schools believes in the use of multiple assessments, both formative and summative, to measure academic growth and achievement. Classroom, benchmark and State assessments are utilized in a Multi-Tiered System of Support to improve instructional practices, monitor and plan for student strengths and needs, and to ensure curricula with deep cognitive demands that meet or exceed state expectations.
