    Superintendent's Message

    “To teach is to learn twice.”

    In 1842, Joseph Joubert, French moralist, crafted the phrase, “to teach is to learn twice.” These words and their relevance to our mission resonate across the Okemos Public Schools even today. The learning and growth of our students, parents/guardians and staff are inseparably intertwined, in a mutually beneficial manner.  

    Educators across the Okemos Public Schools, never stop “going to school” and continually strive to honor the uniqueness and fulfil the needs of every child in our care.  This notion is deeply imbedded and valued as a critical component of our school culture. It is truly at our core.

    We thank you for unique privilege of teaching your children and cultivating a strong partnership with you, as we teach and learn -
