    Welcome to Kindergarten at Cornell Elementary School. Kindergarten is an important foundation building year for children academically, socially and emotionally. We are happy that you are part of our Cornell family and we look forward to working with you and your child.

    Our curriculum is integrated as much as possible. We focus on specific letters and high-frequency words each week through our language arts curriculum and reinforce both when writing. We recite weekly poems and songs that relate to our themes in literacy, science, and social studies. Our math program is very hands-on using manipulatives, SMART Board lessons and math journals. Field trips are planned to enhance our curriculum whenever possible. Play is an integral aspect of kindergarten and is included daily.
