• NOTICE OF FILING DEADLINE:
    OKEMOS SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES

    The deadline for filing as a candidate for the Okemos School Board is:
    Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 4:00 P.M.

    Interested citizens must file an Affidavit of Identity and a nonpartisan nominating petition (minimum 40 signatures) at the Meridian Township Clerk’s Office by 4:00 p.m. July 23, 2024 to be placed on the November 5, 2024 school election ballot. A $100 nonrefundable fee may be filed in lieu of a petition.

    On the ballot will be the following Board of Education terms of office:

    • Four (4) Local School Board seats are open
      • Term of office is four (4) years
      • Begins January 1, 2025 and ends December 31, 2028 

    Nominating petition forms may be obtained from the school board office or from the Township Clerk’s office.  Ideally you would obtain a copy of the Affidavit of Identity from the Secretary of State’s website at www.mich.gov/sos.
