Mrs. Erin Gould hails from South Haven, MI – a small Lake Michigan community. She attended Michigan State University following high school and graduated in 2000 with a BS degree in zoology. Mrs. Erin returned to school to become a teacher not long after and received her BA in teaching from MSU in 2003. Following her teaching internship year, she became part of the Okemos Public Schools family in 2004 when she took on a paraprofessional position at Okemos Public Montessori. Mrs. Erin accepted a lower elementary (1st/2nd grade multiage) teaching position at Okemos Public Montessori for the following school year. In 2012, Mrs. Erin was awarded her master’s degree in curriculum and teaching from MSU.
After a 2-year parental leave of absence after the birth of her daughter, Mrs. Erin taught in second grade at Bennett Woods Elementary, but returned to teaching in the Sycamore Room at OPM in 2018. For the 2021-2022 school year, Mrs. Erin will be teaching in the Sycamore Room in her 15th year as a teacher with Okemos Public Schools.
Mrs. Erin is married to Jason. She has two children: a stellar son Graham (8th gr. fall 2021) and an adventurous daughter Grace (1st gr. fall 2021), who both attend Okemos Public Montessori (at Central and at Chippewa). Spending time with her family is Mrs. Erin's favorite thing to do. She also enjoys reading, traveling, and working on her home and garden.
